With over 25 years experience specialising in Children’s Law (both public and private) it was only natural that he should take on arbitration work under the Children Scheme (having qualified as an Arbitrator in early 2025).
His extensive litigation experience and deep knowledge of the law means he is well equipped to help parents who are unable to resolve disputes themselves. He is fully conversant with all the issues that arise in private law disputes about children, whether it involves how much time they spend with each parent, where they should attend school, with whom they should live, and where they should live (including relocation). As an advocate he has been able to harness the arguments of his own client but also consider the arguments being presented by the other side. This skill set means he is highly suited to NCDR.

Guy can undertake Private Dispute Resolution Appointments to help parents and carers formulate arrangements for the children. Tantamount to a DRA in court, Guy is able to provide an independent overview regarding suitable arrangements for the children within the parameters of the welfare checklist under the Children Act.

In what is a burgeoning area, Guy is able to arbitrate disputes about children including the living arrangements for children, how much time they should spend with each parent, choice of school (state or private) as well as relocation.

M v F (2025) : Determining with which parent the children should live – either Wakefield or Huddersfield and where they should attend school.
